41-095 Kalanianaole Highway

The most famous bodysurfing beach in all of the Islands. A sandy pocket about 1,000 feet long. Extremely dangerous currents and surf from September through April; generally calm during summer for swimming.

Parking, restrooms, picnic tables, showers, lifeguards.

8800 Kalanianaole Hwy (near Halona Blowhole)

Known the world over as a top bodyboarding and bodysurfing spot. One of the most dangerous beaches on the island - with a treacherous shore break and strong rip currents. The waves are great, but so is the risk!

Parking, restrooms, picnic tables, showers, lifeguards.

7455 Kalanianaole Highway

Marine preserve in a beautiful horseshoe bay - home to hundreds of tropical fish. Ideal snorkeling for novices. Free educational tours. Taking of any marine plant or animal life is prohibited. Entry charge. Closed on Tuesday.

Educ. Center, eqpt. & food concessions, gift shop, parking, restrooms, picnic tables, showers, shuttle service, lifeguards. Visit the Preserve.

Shoreline fronting the length of Kahala Avenue

A long and narrow stretch of sand with a shallow offshore fringing reef. Not especially good for swimming. Ideal conditions for novice snorkelers. An offshore break offers a fair surfing spot.

Beach Road (Off Diamond Head Road)

Situated beyond the eastern edge of Waikiki. Swimming, board surfing, diving, windsurfing. One of the most popular windsurfing sites on Oahu.
