The Hawaii Museums Association (HMA) is a non-profit corporation founded in 1968 that strives to be a catalyst for the exchange of information and ideas among museums and related institutions in Hawaii; promotes and develops professional standards for Hawaii museums through an ongoing program of professional training and publications; stimulates interest in and promotes information about museums as important educational and cultural centers; conducts and encourages research and disseminates findings related to the museum field.
