HOLIDAY LIGHTING OF THE BANYAN TREE

Come celebrate the 15th anniversary of the lighting of Lahaina's historic Banyan Tree. Saturday, the Banyan Tree is lit up with thousands of Christmas lights for the entire holiday season. Santa Claus makes an appearance, island-style, and community choirs sing Christmas carols. See the World Culture Exchange Hula performances on stage. Kids are invited to participate in holiday festivities including holiday art activities and cookie decorating workshops and families can take photos with a Hawaiian snowman. Enjoy a holiday arts and crafts fair along with Hawaiian musical entertainment. Free admission.

The Maui Brewing Company hosts this fundraiser for the Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project. From 6 pm to midnight, half of the sales from the night's pints go to bird research on the island. Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project is a research organization dedicated to the recovery of Maui's native forest birds, which are facing extinction due to habitat loss and introduced species. The Maui Brewing Company is a sustainable business with flavorful brews made on Maui. Help out the birds and enjoy a beer at the Brewpub, which is located off of the Honoapiilani Hwy at the Kahana Gateway Shopping Center, just north of Lahaina, West Maui.

Maui Friday Town Parties is an initiative developed by the Maui County Office of Economic Development to showcase our island’s historic towns and celebrate the unique nature of their businesses communities. From Market Street to Front Street, from Baldwin Avenue to Hana Highway, most every Friday our community gathers to celebrate art, music and Maui culture. Residents and visitors enjoy a special night of interaction and fun, punctuated with free entertainment, special offerings and Friday-only promotions from each town’s family of merchants. Maui Friday Town Parties are a safe, fun community-minded way for both residents and visitors to kickoff the weekend under the stars and enjoy our small-town ambiance. Many retailers, galleries and boutiques operate extended hours and highlight special promotions. Crafters, artisans and culinary wizards add their creativity to the event. Attendees have fun while simultaneously supporting our economy and revitalizing historic Maui.
