FORUM ON SUSTAINABLE TOURISM PATHWAYS FOR MAUI NUI

This is a FREE EVENT for all in the Maui Nui visitor industry and in the community at-large. The forum will bring together Maui Nui stakeholders within the visitor industry and beyond to discuss current and emerging opportunities for developing and promoting the sustainability of tourism in our islands. The forum will cover some some of the myriad forms of locally based tourism that have the potential to further contribute to the long term sustainability of our island economies, ecology and society. The event will feature an overview of emerging models in the tourism of sustainability including agricultural, ecological, educational, volunteer and culturally based forms of tourism.

A Hawaiian cultural event which focuses on Kalo, Taro, the staple food of Hawai'i. Maui Academy of Performing Arts presents The Grapes of Wrath, a live theatrical production based on John Steinbeck's classic novel about a family's struggle to survive during the Great Depression. Performances run April 3-19, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm (no performance on Easter Sunday, April 12). All seats are $16. Tickets are available at the Customer Service Kiosk in Queen Ka'ahumanu Center, or online.
